Don't worry if your keyboard is acting up! The Boards Keyboard needs two quick settings turned on in your iPhone's Settings. Once they're set, you can access your content system from any messaging app.
This article covers when the Boards Keyboard isn't appearing, or appears but won't send images, links, or other content.
Set Up the Boards Keyboard
Step 1: Add the Boards Keyboard
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap General, then Keyboard.
- Tap Keyboards, then Add New Keyboard.
- Under Third-Party Keyboards, select Boards.
Step 2: Allow Full Access
- In Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards, tap 'Boards' and make sure 'Allow Full Access' is switched on. This step is easy to miss, and without it the Boards Keyboard can appear present but fail to send images, links, or other non-text content.
- If a pop-up appears, tap Allow.
Switching to the Boards Keyboard
- Open any messaging app and tap the text field to bring up your keyboard.
- Tap the Globe icon (🌐) at the bottom of your keyboard to switch keyboards.
- Tap and hold the Globe icon to see a list of your keyboards, then select Boards.

Keyboard Stopped Working?
Common causes include an iOS update resetting keyboard permissions (re-check Steps 1 and 2 after any iOS update), the Boards app being updated or reinstalled (permissions can reset), or Full Access being turned off accidentally. Re-checking Steps 1–2 is the first thing to try.
If you've re-checked both steps and the keyboard still isn't working, close and reopen the app you're messaging in, then try again. Still having trouble? Contact our support team.
