If you have installed the Boards app but can't find the Boards Keyboard when you are in a messaging app, don't worry! This is usually due to a simple setting on your device.
The Boards Keyboard is the key to accessing your system instantly, so let's get it enabled!
Step 1: Confirm Installation and Full Access
First, ensure the keyboard is properly installed and permission has been granted on your device.
- iOS (iPhone): Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards. Confirm Boards is listed and that Allow Full Access is toggled ON.
- Android: Go to Settings > Languages & Input > Virtual Keyboard > Manage Keyboards. Confirm Boards is toggled ON.
Step 2: How to Switch Keyboards
Once installed, the Boards Keyboard doesn't automatically appear; you must manually switch to it when you are in a chat app.
- Open a Chat App: Go into any messaging application (like WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram DMs) and tap the text field so your regular keyboard appears.
- Tap the Globe: Look for the Globe icon (🌐) or the Keyboard icon (⌨️) or microphone on your keyboard (often near the space bar).
- Cycle Through: Tap the Globe icon (🌐) repeatedly until the Boards Keyboard appears.
