Within Boards, you take on different Roles that determine your access and ability to manage Content. We've made it easy to see your team structure and your specific Role on a Board across all platforms.
Your Role and Permissions
Your Role dictates what you can do with a Board and its Content, including how you interact with Messages:
Owner:
- Content: You are the creator of the Board and have full control to manage all Content, settings, and members.
- Messages: You can post, schedule and delete Messages.
- Board: You are the only one who can delete the Board and set sharing permissions.
Editor:
Permission:
- Can Edit: Can add, delete, organize, update and edit content on a Board. Can add Members and send Messages.
- Content: You can collaborate on and enhance the Content of shared Boards. You can add, edit, and organize Content just like the Owner.
- Messages: You can post and schedule Messages. You can delete or modify Messages you personally post.
- Board: You cannot delete the Board or change core settings.
Note: To add editors or become an editor, the user must be subscribed to the Business or Unlimited plan.
Member:
Access:
- Can Access: Have access to and share content based on the Board’s set permissions around sharing/copying. They can’t share, invite or add anyone else to the Board.
- Can Access and Add Members: Have access to and share content based on the Board’s set permissions around sharing copying. They can share the Board, invite or add anyone else to the Board either by email address or link, based on the Board’s sharing permissions.
- Content: You have access to can share or copy the Content on Boards that were shared with you. (depending on Board permissions set by the Owner) Any content changes on the Board are instant so you can be sure you have the most current content. You can send the Content but cannot add, edit, or delete it.
- Messages: All members receive Board Messages regardless of your access. You cannot post or schedule Messages, but you can view and react to all Messages..
- Board: You cannot delete the Board.
Teammate:
- You have been given a separate Unlimited account from the Boards subscription owner. You do not have visibility to any Boards or content unless you are invited specifically to view or edit. Collaboration is not automatic and must be delegated by the owner of any Board. To see more about Teammates, please review this article.
Enhanced Board Visibility
Across your Boards app, you now benefit from better visibility into your team and your status:
See the Member Count: You can see the number of Members on your Boards at a glance, making it simple to track the size of your collaborative team.
Identify Your Role: Each Board clearly displays your specific Role (Owner, Editor, or Member). This helps you stay organized and immediately understand your permissions for that specific Board.
