Setting Up Your Boards Keyboard
Activating the Boards Keyboard is the most crucial first step, ensuring all your best scripts and content are always accessible, no matter where you are chatting!
Don't worry, setting up the keyboard is quick and easy!
Open Boards App: Open the Boards app on your device.
- Follow Prompts: If this is your first time opening the app, you will be automatically prompted to enable the keyboard. Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Manual Setup: If you are not prompted, go to your phone's main Settings app.
For iPhone (iOS) Users:
- Navigate to Keyboard: Tap on General, then tap Keyboard, and then tap Keyboards.
- Add Boards: Tap Add New Keyboard... and select Boards from the list.

Grant Full Access (Crucial!): Once Boards is added, tap on Boards in the list, and then toggle the Allow Full Access switch ON.
For Android Users:
- Navigate to Keyboard: Search for Language & Input or Keyboard settings (this varies by device).
- Enable Boards: Look for Manage Keyboards or Virtual Keyboard and ensure the toggle switch next to Boards is turned ON. Be sure to confirm Allow Full Access.
- Set Boards as Default: You may need to select Boards as one of your active keyboards.
Note: Allowing Full Access simply enables the Boards Keyboard to function correctly (e.g., sharing images and links). We never read anything you type on your other keyboards.
Security and Privacy: Keyboard Disclaimer
When setting up the Boards Keyboard on your device, you will see a standard disclaimer message from your operating system (Android or iOS). This message is a general warning used for all third-party keyboards, and we want to assure you about your privacy!
Can Boards See My Sensitive Information?
Absolutely not. We understand this warning can be concerning, but rest assured:
- Boards can only see the content you store on the app or send with it. This is the content you intentionally add to your Boards for sharing (your scripts, images, links, etc.).
- Anything you type with your regular, default keyboard cannot be seen or tracked by Boards.
