Share folders (Android)

In addition to sharing a whole board, users can share a specific folder via a web link. Recipients can view the folder’s content and add it to their Boards app.

When you share a folder, the people you share it with have options. If the Board invitation link to add members is activated, they can join the entire Board that contains that folder, granting them access to all the content in that Board. This way, they will see the Board updates whenever you make changes.

Alternatively, they can choose to save only specific pieces of content or subfolders to their own Boards, focusing on what they find most relevant. In this case, if you update the original Board, they won't see those changes because they've saved the content on their own Boards, and they aren't members of your original Board.

There are two ways to share a folder:

• Folder sharing via keyboard:

1. Open the Boards keyboard in the messaging app or conversation where you want to share your folder.
2. Open the folder that you’d like to share.
3. In the Boards keyboard, tap the share icon in the upper right corner of the Boards keyboard to share the folder

• Folder sharing via app:

1. Open the folder that you’d like to share on the Boards app.
2. Tap the share icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
3. Share the folder via the channel that you prefer.

Recipients will see the shared folder via link:

If someone opens a shared folder link on their phone and taps "Open in App" they can access the shared folder using the Boards app. If the app is already installed on their device, they will be directed to view that content inside the Boards app. They will then have the option to join the Board, where they will see Boards content updates (if the Board invitation link to add members is activated) or they can choose specific pieces of content, folders, or subfolders and save them to their own Boards, however, they will not receive content updates if the original content changes.

How recipients can join the Board containing the shared content via the link:

1. Enter the shared link
2. Tap Open in App
3. Tap Join Board

How recipients can save the shared content by link to their own Boards:

1. Enter the shared link
2. Tap Open in App
3. Browse in the shared folder and tap Select
4. Select the content pieces they want to save to their own Boards
5. Tap Add to my Boards
6. Select where they want to save it by tapping Add here. They can save it in existing Boards, folders, or subfolders, or they can create new ones
