In addition to sharing an entire board, you can share a specific folder through a web link. Recipients can view the folder's content on any platform and add it to their Boards account by following the link on their mobile phones.
Here's how to share a folder from Boards Desktop:
- Open the folder you'd like to share.
- Click the "Share" icon in the upper right corner of your screen.
Your folder has already been copied to your clipboard and you can now share it anywhere you choose.
Recipients will see the shared folder via link:
When someone opens a shared folder link and taps "Open in Boards," they can access the folder through the Boards Desktop editor. If they’re already logged into Boards Desktop, they’ll be directed straight to the content. From there, they can:
Join the Board: This allows them to receive updates whenever the Board content changes (provided the Board's invitation link to add members is active).
Save Specific Content: They can select individual pieces of content, folders, or subfolders to save to their own Boards. However, saved content will not receive updates if the original content is modified.
How recipients can join the Board containing the shared content via the link:
- Open the shared link.
- Click Open in Boards.
- Click Join Board.
How recipients can save the shared content by link to their own Boards:
- Enter the shared link.
- Click Open in Boards.
- Browse in the shared folder and select the content pieces they want to save to their own Boards
- Click Save.
- Select where they want to save it by clicking Save here. They can save it in existing Boards, folders, or subfolders, or they can create new ones.
